Information/Intstructional Design

According to wikipedia Instructional Design:

is the practice of maximizing the effectiveness, efficiency and appeal of instruction and other learning experiences. The process consists broadly of determining the current state and needs of the learner, defining the end goal of instruction, and creating some "intervention" to assist in the transition. Ideally the process is informed by pedagogically and andragogically (adult learning) tested theories of learning and may take place in student-only, teacher-led or community-based settings. The outcome of this instruction may be directly observable and scientifically measured or completely hidden and assumed. There are many instructional design models but many are based on the ADDIE model with the phase’s analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. As a field, instructional design is historically and traditionally rooted in cognitive and behavioral psychology.

Examples of Instructional design

How stuff works

Is a website dedicated to informing people on how it is particular objects work, like cars, and computers. It is a straight forward easy to understand website, with lots of information clearly displayed with text, diagrams and videos.

Where is

Where is is a GPS based navigation website, its used to direct people to destinations around Australia, it plots your course to many locations, from houses to, businesses and restaurants. You can choose factors for the course chosen, shortest route, no toll roads, back streets, major roads etc. A very use full informative instructional design.

Try drugs

Is a highly interactive drug awareness website. The cursor controls on the site are effected by which ever drug is being used at the time. For example in the following image the drug being used is marijuana, the effect of this drug on your cursor is to make it much slower, and laggy.
